Official Trucking Information
for CDL Students and New Truck Drivers
As someone who may be considering a career in professional truck driving, it can sometimes be overwhelming when it comes to shuffling through all of the so-called “trucking information” available on the web. Many sites and proclaimed “driver advocates” may still lead you down the wrong road when in fact, most are actually receiving income from advertising for the very trucking companies that Truth About Trucking, LLC advises against.
Sites like these are not hard to find as they will even use the “Truth About Trucking” name to confuse you and to draw you to their site. They will even link to many of my articles and blog posts, representing themselves as Truth About Trucking, LLC. Don’t fall for it.
For 37 years, I have been involved with the trucking industry, accumulating 4 million safe miles covering all 48 states and parts of Canada and Mexico. Having held positions including business owner, dispatcher, consultant and driver, I spent 28 years over the road with 19 of those years working in Household Goods. Once I made the transition from mover to freight hauler, I discovered that OTR trucking freight was a far different world than the moving business.
The deceitful practices by general freight trucking companies toward their drivers are undeniable. The largest sector of people who suffer under these practices are the CDL training students and recent truck driver training school graduates. It can also be said that even hard-core veteran truck drivers face many hardships within the industry. For most, it has taken them years of hard work and sacrifice, to learn the “inside secrets” of this industry and how to make trucking work for them as a viable career.
Professional truck driving can be a decent career, but you have to learn and be aware of many aspects of the industry:
- Who are the good trucking companies?
- How do you choose the best CDL truck driving school?
- Where can I find the best CDL training?
- What are the best truck driving jobs?
- Who can I trust for honest and reliable trucking information?
